Optimum Aluminium Filtration for Spinal Radiography

DONALD K. FREEMAN and REG T. POOLE

Measurements of exposure to produce constant radiographic density as a function of added aluminium filtration indicate that the optimum value for spinal radiography at 85 kVp is 4 mm. The optimum total aluminium filtration (inherent plus added) indicated is 5 mm. These values of aluminium filtration result in minimum patient exposure, no decrease in radiographic quality and only a relatively small increase in x-ray generator power.

Selection of a Career in Chiropractic

JENNIFER R. JAMISON

Reasons for selecting chiropractic as a career appear to be universal rather than local. Australian chiropractic students, whether in funded or non-funded programmes, select similar career variables to their counterparts in America.

INDEX TERMS: CHIROPRACTIC; CAREER.
