CAA is 20 years young!
2010 marks 20 years since the CAA was formed.
Such an auspicious event deserves a trip down memory lane to revisit
some of the highlights that have taken place during the
Association’s last two decades.
Here are a few of the achievements and landmark occasions that have
peppered the CAA’s first 20 years.
World
Federation of Chiropractic
In 2005, CAA National was thrilled to be host to the World
Federation of Chiropractic’s 8th Biennial Congress, which took
place in Sydney

World Masters Games Sydney
2009
The World Masters Games held in Sydney last September boasted the
largest contingent of chiropractic practitioners at a sporting event and
was the highlight of Sports Chiropractic Australia’s (SCA) many
achievements

Straighten Up Australia
Straighten Up Australia (SUA), a campaign aimed at improving spinal
health and posture, was launched by Commonwealth Games Gold medallist,
the late Kerryn McCann during National Chiropractic Care Week at the
Sydney Opera House on 22 May 2006

Forward
An historic determination by two national organisations, The
Australian Chiropractors’ Association (ACA) and the United
Chiropractors Association of Australasia Ltd, (UCAA) led to their
official merger on 1 December 1990

The CCEA - formed in 2002 to encompass the activities
of the Australasian Council on Chiropractic Education and the Joint
Education Committee of Participating Registration Boards - plays a vital
role in ensuring competency and high education standards in
chiropractic for the Australasian community

Fight Back - The Response
In September 1992 the AMA published Chiropractic in Australia and
circulated it widely throughout the medical profession, government and
media representatives without input from the CAA, chiropractic
registration boards or the then two government funded chiropractic
institutions. On 24 March 2003 the CAA formally released its
response to the AMA's position paper
